Speaking of those I would say if you have the limited edition use Hattori (that's what I used first, really fun and get you used to battlefield tactics) or if you don't sue the Shimazu if you want to try out converting to Christianity or Chosokabe if you want to remain Buddhist. The Tokugawa bonus is very small compared to the bonus a clan like Hattori or Ikko Ikki gain. their diplomatic bonus is a measly +10, everything else is either you playing on easy or you just being good or lucky.
